We all know from the results of VB100 that Microsoft gotten first this month (Aug 09) for antivirus solution. Sad thing was Symantec failed. In any case, the Microsoft product was actually ForeFront, which is not targeted for consumer desktop. However, it is noted that Microsoft Security Essential and probably OneCare is using the same technology.
This is what I got from a email from Microsoft:
