Transformers the Movie Review

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Instead of calling this a review, maybe its more of my thoughts after watching Transformers. As a movie, its great, actions, fighting, special effects... You have it all. I am not sure what is the ratings given to this movie, but the movie was cut, as far as I can see and there is at least 2 sexual references in the movie. 1 after the partents entered the room and another immediately after Optimus Prime first introduce himself. So I presumed its not G...

Being said about the special effects and totally unnecessary carnage just to make the movie looks good, now what I do not like about the movie. soundwave was one of the coolest Decepticon, but has been reduced to a pile of spidery looking metal size of a dog. So is Jazz, but he only appeared less than 10 seconds then being torned apart by Megatron. Despite all that seems to end, there is no accountability for Starscream (which I do not recall being shot down) and Scorpinox who just escaped and disappeared benealth the sands... Sound like a lame loose ends for a sequel.

There is not even close link with the original Transformers cartoon. So, my advice is do not take this as an adaptation. Instead, see it as a totally unrelated piece of work. Thats goes for Beastwars too. The original classic is not much to match up to.

So, is Michael Bay ready to make Mechwarriors?

Transformer - The Movie

Despite all I had said, I still will look forward to the Transformer movie coming on 4th July... Hopefully it is NOT TOO BAD. :) Anyway, while looking around, I found this nice poster which you may want to download at :

Transformers : More mistakes than meets the eyes!

Yes, 4 months before the show I am already forseeing this to be a disaster! Other than the few points I pointed out in the previous post :

1. Optimus Prime model is wrong
2. Bumble bee looks like a monster

Here are some which I already spoted :

1. Megatron has been changed into a Jet from a Gun.
2. Scorpinok was suppose to be huge. His size is to be rivial by Metroplex. Of course, there was Fortress Maximus later...
3. Originally Devastator was in the movie, but not the same Constructicon we know. We can only hope to see any of those 5-in-1 in Transformers 2.
4. No Dinobots. Yes, not even one of them.

Btw, here are some pretty hard questions for your Transformers fan out there.

1. How many cassettle "pets" did Soundwave have? Can you name them all?
2. In one of the episode, there was an Autobot who can transform in to a Flying Saucer and did not want to be part of the war. What is his name?
3. Who created Defensor?
4. Who was it that Optimus Prime is able to merge with in G2/3 to become a more powerful Optimus?

Transformers : Their War, Our World

Strangely the Sub-Title is not "Robot in Disguise" or "More than meets the eyes". There is a huge trailer out there with HD option. Just google for it. However, I must say I never thought there will be this day. In the intro you get to see Optimus Prime, but no Megatron... And even that I saw lots of post about using the wrong truck mode and OMG BumbleBee looks like a REAL bee and nothhing like what is is suppose to look like...

I just hope despite all these, they do not screw up with the story and no Quatizors I hope, those creature kinda spoilt the story of Transformers anyway.

BTW, My favourite is still Omega Supreme.
